The Ravenscroft Crystal Amphora Decanter is inspired by a commemorative handled vase that the Greeks and Roman's awarded to the victorious in contests. Height: 13 in. Width: 7 in. Capacity: 40 oz. An amphora was a very large clay jar that had a large oval shape with a narrow neck. An amphora had handles similar to this decanter that attached to the body of the decanter. The wine decanter was placed on the table which was easier for the servants to serve wine from the enormous amphora.
